The Festival was put together nicely with plenty of things to do and people to chat with. Among the many celebrities that were there including Linda Blair and Michael Madsen, I got chance to meet Danny Lloyd ( Danny Torrance) of “The Shining” fame.

I also had the opportunity to meet a couple of authors. The first author I met was Michael D’Ambrosio. An extremely nice man who has a strong passion for writing. He currently has five science fiction novels out and a sixth coming out next year.

Fractured Time is the name of his first book in the Fractured Time trilogy.

“The adventure begins for a group of unsuspecting passengers when their plane passes through a mysterious anomaly and lands at an earthquake-ravaged airport. The area around them has transformed into a hostile environment from another time, another dimension, or both.”

Also, Mr. D’Ambrosio is working on another series called Space Frontiers.
There are currently two books in this series “The Eye of Icarus” and Dangerous Liaisons” with at least two more on the way.

Nik Havert of Pickle Press. writes horror “Agent Z” and (clears throat) more adult oriented comics “Big Breasted Vampire Death” among many, many other titles in between. He has a lot on his plate being the “Owner/manager/editor/head writer/big cheese of Pickle Press”, but he had plenty of time to chat with people about whatever topic pops up.

I picked up a copy of Agent Z and it was an awesome read and the art was great! Definitely pick up a copy and see if you can get a haiku from him. And oh, tell him JEEPS RULE!

Chad, an aspiring writer who is teaching school until he lands a publishing contract, and his wife, Nora, who is working as a home nurse for a retired minister are, like most people these days, struggling financially.
